Accessibility Nottingham #6 – The Speakers
In this blog, we reveal the speakers of the next Accessibility Nottingham and who will be providing entertainment for the evening.
Lucy joined the Business Disability Forum in 2014. Since joining the organisation, she has been responsible for developing the resources available as part of the Technology Taskforce’s toolkit of information. This includes a large selection of Best Practice Guides and Case Studies, showcasing how our Members and Partners have become more Disability Smart by using technology.
She will be delivering a talk focusing on the Business Disability Forum, the Technology Taskforce, and providing attendees with free accessibility resources.
This talk and demonstration is being given by Sam Coulson, who represents Sight and Sound Technology, a company that specialises in developing assistive technology for those with disabilities. Sam will be taking us through the journey of his past experience, will talk about Sight and Sound Technology, and how they've become the centre of the UK's assistive technology industry.
Sam will also be demonstrating innovative assistive technology that is developed by Sight and Sound Technology giving all of our attendees an insight into how it helps those with disabilities.
This is the Sea
This Is the Sea charts the musical endeavours of Gary O'Keefe, a folk-rock songwriter originating from Coventry, England.
O'Keefe's somewhat brutally honest and open songwriting style sees a heart on sleeve musicality meet lyrics that lay themselves bare; recalling lived experiences and finding catharsis in the journey through them.
O'Keefe had previously operated as front-man and principle songwriter of indie rock band Bootleg Poets, but was brought out of a self-imposed exile when asked by Augustines' William McCarthy, to support him on a UK tour in the summer of 2018.
This is the Sea, will be providing entertainment on the night and briefly talking about a subject that means a lot to him, mental health. He'll cover how it's OK to not be OK.
